Yesterday we had a little gathering for the retirees to come by and see the old stations for the last time. Both 5 and 9 had refreshments and some good company. Some of the guys that worked here years ago stopped in as well as some of their children and wives. We heard some great stories from everyone. Middle day in Northwest. It's been a busy one today. Bevo and Franks at class all morning, Wheels shipped to #3 Hippie Hotel, Gossip Queen Zimmerman off on vacation. I'm sure all of our readers know by now that we buried a brother yesterday. The unexpected loss of Captain Chris Brown has affected every member of our Department in some way or another. Chris was assigned to Station #1 C-shift aka "The Big Show". Feels like fall now. Cloudy cold day and a belly full of Lt. Bugg's 500 bean chili. Bet the bunk room will be right tonight! I never knew there were so many different kinds of beans. We have made it another cycle. A-shift station 9 including our friends on Medic 101 have been pretty busy on this cold, wet day. A few alarms and ems calls kept us running.
